The conversion phase is complete
Sentinel Linux Converter v1.0.18-9 is the final public conversion release for Sentinel Linux v1.0 AMBROSO. It converts a supported Debian 13 Trixie MATE system into the accepted public baseline, verifies the finished system through Phase 99 and produces the evidence needed for the ISO workflow.
The next development stage is no longer another converter revision. The project now moves to building and validating the bootable Sentinel Linux installer ISO.
Why revision 9 is the final release
The v1.0.18-final engine was already stable. Revisions 3 through 9 concentrated on the transition from the former public working name to Sentinel Linux and on the release evidence surrounding that transition.
- Revision 3 introduced the package-managed Sentinel Linux name transition while preserving compatibility identifiers.
- Revision 4 corrected the Phase 66 desktop-session check and aligned GRUB, Plymouth and visible release presentation.
- Revision 6 prevented a selected icon colour from being forced back after conversion.
- Revision 7 removed an unnecessary Phase 85 icon-cache rebuild and left cache ownership with the installed icon packages.
- Revision 8 made Phase 99 release-gate failures visible and aligned the desktop boot hotfix contract.
- Revision 9 emits the canonical Sentinel Linux report and ISO-input schemas while rejecting unknown or substantive gate failures.
Sentinel Linux outside, compatibility inside
The visible release identity is now Sentinel Linux v1.0 AMBROSO. Existing internal package names, commands, filesystem paths and the internal ID=sentinelos value remain in place where changing them would create unnecessary compatibility risk.
This separation keeps the user-facing identity coherent without destabilising tested package relationships or established administration paths.
Phase 99 now speaks the final release language
The canonical final report uses org.sentinellinux.final_release_report.v1, and the ISO input manifest uses org.sentinellinux.iso_build_inputs.v1. The release label is Sentinel Linux v1.0 AMBROSO.
The signed legacy release gate remains a read-only evidence source. Phase 99 independently verifies the current package-owned transition files and normalises only two recognised transition-era mismatches. Unknown or substantive failures remain fatal and visible.
The final bundle is independently checkable
The complete converter bundle SHA-256 is 5aef3456b6d8c96b5eb91789768920f20924962efb06edc45287e812c8465db0. The enclosed Debian package SHA-256 is 91539f5527bf433df0663d916725818e02219e8f5ee697f38a0b007d9cb5b436. The bundle's own SHA256SUMS verifies all 117 listed targets.
The release also includes its manifest, final checklist, policy contract, validation output, public repository keys, exact package payloads, phase scripts, tests and retained correction history.
The default remains non-AEGIS
The normal conversion installs the public Sentinel Linux baseline without AEGIS. It does not install an AI runtime or model, AEGIS Prime, private repository tools, credentials or personal administration data. The sanitised public AEGIS Suite remains an optional installation after the operating system baseline is complete.
What ISO production means
Phase 99 validates conversion readiness and creates ISO build inputs, but it does not build the ISO itself. The next workflow will assemble a bootable installation image, integrate the dark and cyan installer experience, test live boot and installation paths, and verify that the installed system reproduces the accepted package-governed baseline.
Until that work passes, the website will continue to say that ISO production is under way and that no official ISO has been published.
What users can use today
Users with a supported Debian 13 Trixie MATE installation can download and verify the final converter now. The complete process is documented in the Public Conversion Manual. People who prefer a normal bootable installer should wait for the ISO release rather than treating an ISO as already available.
A milestone, not the end of the work
Completing the converter establishes a reproducible bridge from Debian to Sentinel Linux. The ISO will turn that accepted bridge into a conventional installation experience. Both routes will remain grounded in the same policy packages, release contracts, public checksums and user-control principles.
